Project Proposal 2: SSYR Skills for Nation Building Program

Background:
Youth unemployment remains a major driver of instability and despair across South Sudan. SSYR aims to break this cycle by equipping young people with market-relevant, conflict-resilient skills that can translate to jobs, dignity, and hope.

Objective:
To train 10,000 youth in practical skills across ten states within three years and connect them to income-generating opportunities.

Key Activities:

• Launch SSYR Skills Training Hubs in state capitals (Juba, Malakal, Bentiu, Wau, etc.).
• Partner with technical schools and NGOs to provide 3–6 month training in: Carpentry & masonry, ICT & coding, Agribusiness, Mobile repair, Renewable energy.
• Organize Youth Innovation Challenges with seed funding prizes for social enterprises.

Expected Outcomes:

• 70% of trained youth secure employment or launch micro-enterprises.
• Reduced youth participation in violent or criminal activities.
• Increased community resilience and economic development.

Training completion and placement rates tracked digitally, Beneficiary case studies, Annual SSYR Skills Forum for policy and practice dialogue.
